After weeks of development, we are proud to announce the release of jTips 2.1! We've packed loads of new features and enhancements. The entire application has been reviewed an improved to bring you the most secure, feature-packed and scalable jTips ever!

We urge everyone using jTips to upgrade to version 2.1 to take advantage of the great new features. If you are currently running jTips 2.0.12 or higher on Joomla! 1.0, then you'll need to take one additional step before using OneClick Upgrade.

jTips 2.1 takes your tipping/picking competitions to a new level. We've added a bunch of cool new features to take your jTips experience even further.

Here's just some of the great new features we've added to jTips

• Revamped Administrator Interface

  The entire administrator user interface has been cleaned to be better integrated with the Joomla! system. By adhering to the standard Joomla! look and feel, jTips 2.1 presents you with a more consistent and user friendly experience.

• New Round and Game Manager

  jTips 2.1 makes setting up rounds and games easier than ever. You can now create the round and games at the same time. Additionally, you can add as few or as many games per round as you like.

• Game Times

  You can now show the date and time each game is scheduled to start when setting up a round. These Game Times are shown on the Tips Panel for additional information for users.

• WebScore

  When setting up a season/competition, you can nominate a single user (for each competition) that can then add rounds and games and even add results from the front-end of your website.

• Menu Setup

  Create Joomla! menu items specific for each season/competition you have. If you are running Joomla! 1.5, you can create menu items specific for each area of jTips! Even better integration with the Joomla! core system.

• jTips as jLeague

  Now you can use jTips as a league management system! When setting up a season/competition you can optionally disable the entire tipping system. This allows you to use jTips to manage teams, fixtures and results.

• Revamped ShowTips

  With jTips 2.1, you can see more details about what other users have tipped/picked, including the number of points they were awarded for each game!

• Module-Based Dashboard

  jTips 2.1 takes your Dashboard even further by utilising Joomla! modules! jTips 2.1 comes with three jTips 'Dashlets' as standard, but get ready for a whole new set of Dashlets coming soon! These Dashlets are installed just like any other module in Joomla!. The only requirement is that they must be displayed in the jTipsDash module position - that is, you can not display these Dashlets in standard Joomla! module positions.

• Automatic Upgrades

  Enable Auto Upgrades to have jTips automatically look for and install updates when they are available!

• Home v Away or Away v Home

  Select which team should appear on the left and right had sides of the Tips Panel and Round/Game Manager. This can be done on a per seson/competition basis.

• SmartTips

  You can optionally set jTips so that when using 'Pick the Score', users no longer need to enter the score values and also pick the winning team. With SmartTips, entering the score values automatically picks the correct team for your!

All this and much more is now available with jTips 2.1! We've also launched another brand new module to coincide with the release of jTips 2.1. The jTips Upcoming Games Module is a handy way to display a summary of the next round to be played and can be shown in any module position on your website! You can also show a countdown timer on the module! Running more than one competition? No problem! Just use Joomla!'s built-in module-copy feature to re-use this module for another competition. Easy!
