Team Ladder Ordering

The way that the Team Ladder is sorted has now been improved to accurately portray complex ladders. The ladder is now sorted by total points, for and against, and finally, the team name. Remember to utilise the recently added ShowTeam feature! Click on a team name to view their entire competition history and results!

Improved Pagination

The Competition Ladder has a brand new way of flicking between pages of users, or selecting how many users to show on a single page! Previously, the number of users to show per page was a setting in the jTips Configuration area only. However, now, any user can view the Competition Ladder, then easily select the number of users to show. The new page select mechanism is 100% integrated into Joomla! So page navigation links in core Joomla! areas are not available in jTips!

Team Auto-Selection

Previously, if you had configured a competition to allow users to 'Pick the Score', your users would have been required to enter their estimate for the score of each team and also select the team they believe will win. This may have caused confusion when a user entered a score and then selected the team with the lower score. Now, when you setup your competition in this way, when a user enters their estimated scores, jTips automatically selects the correct team for them! If the user manually overrides this selection, and chooses the opposing team, jTips will automatically switch the entered scores around!

Late Entry Points Distribution

What about those users that want to join your competition after it has started? Now you can invite them into the competition in three brand new ways! Previously, when someone joined a competition after it had started, they were giving a standard starting score of zero. While this may suit some, it doesn't help those customers that find your website midway through a competition only to find they would have almost no chance of winning! Now, with Default Points Allocation they can! Simply edit your competition settings (via the Season Manager) and enable one of the options for Default Points. Users that join late can now be given the standard zero points, or, the equivalent number of points to the user that is currently in last place, or, an average number of points and precision. Keep everyone in the game as you continue to grow your client-base with jTips!

Standardised Tips Panel

The Tips Panel has been updated to conform to a more standardised format used by many of the big sports websites. The layout has been updated so that the 'Away' team appears on the left and the 'Home' team appears on the right. This can then be read as 'Away Team at Home Team'.

New Module Available

We have also developed a brand new jTips 2.0 Add-on Module, the Best Tipper Module. This module displays the overall best tipper for a selected competition. This is based on the best average score and Precision Score per round.

The jTips 2.0 Best Tipper module integrates with Community Builder 1.1 and 1.2 to display the user's profile photo and a link to the users' Community Builder profile page. There are also a number of configurable options to control which statistics should be displayed on the module itself.

In the rare occurrence that more than one user has the same average score and Precision Score, the Best Tipper Module will select one of them at random each time it loads!
