It's been a few weeks since the last jTips update. We've been kept busy with BizTweet and other custom projects. Nevertheless, jTips 2.1.14 has just been released.

This update, which is available via OneClick Upgrade and for new installations, fixes some smaller issues regarding JomSocial integration and an error message that appears in the Competition Ladder area if a jTips participant is no longer a member of the website. This update also resolves an important security issue. We therefore recommend that all subscribers immediately upgrade to this version.

We've also added some new features... again! You can now add more information to any game in the system. When entering a round from either the admin Round Management area or front-end round manager, you can tick a new 'Additional Info' tickbox and then enter custom details for any or all games! This information is then displayed on the Tips Panel using a small info icon. Simply hover your mouse on the icon to see the additional information for that game.

An new view/layout has been added that displays the games for each round. This is essentially the same as the Tips Panel without the ability to save any tips. This can be used when the tipping feature is disabled to allow your website members to track each round and its results.

Lowest Score Allocation

Enter -1 for 'User No Tips Points' when setting up a season and when you process a round, users that forget to submit their tips will be given the same score as the user that did submit their tips, but scored the lowest. This will keep these 'forgetful' users in the game... but only just.

The jTips Demo Site is now available for you to check out the intricacies of the jTips system. The Demo Site is loosley based on the Australian NRL competition. However, the demo data is completely refreshed and randomized every 12 hours! Not everything can be randomized however, so the Comments and BadWords features have been disabled. You can log in to the Demo Site in both the front end and administration areas to really get a feel for how the system works.
