There have a been a few changes from jTips 2.0 to jTips 2.1 that require a little bit more tweaking to complete your upgrade. These changes are mainly in the Configuration as new options have been added and the way some options work has changed.

• New Date and Time Formats

  After you upgrade to jTips 2.1, you will need to review your Date and Time Formats on the Display tab in the Configuration area. Here are some examples:
  • %D - mm/dd/yy
  • %B %d, %Y - Month dd, yyyy
  • %d-%b-%y - Mon-dd-yy
  • %I:%M %p - hh:mm am/pm - 12 hour time
    
  • %H:%M: hh:mm - 24 hour time

• Add new Module Position

  To accommodate for the new jTips Dashlets, you need to create a new module position called jTipsDash. In Joomla! 1.0, this is done by going to Site >> Templates >> Module Positions. Then, simply enter jTipsDash in one of the empty fields and save. For Joomla! 1.5, when you are setting up one of the new Dashlets, you can simply type in jTipsDash into the Postition field.

• Adjust Menu Items

  jTips 2.1 now supports a variety of Views in Joomla! 1.5. To accommodate for this you should recreate your Joomla! menu items for jTips. When setting up the menu item you should also select which season the menu item corresponds to. If you are running Joomla! 1.0, you will still need to complete this step to select which season the menu item is for.

• Update User Preferences

  Please inform you jTips users to update their preferences. jTips 2.1 introduces a new time zone setting to accurately display dates and times relevant for each user. The previous time zone setting has been replaced.

• Install the Dashlets

  jTips 2.1 comes with three dashlets. If you are already using jTips you will now have received them. You will need to install them as you would any other Joomla! module. Then, set them up to display in the previously setup jTipsDash module position.
