This QuickStart Guide will walk you through the process of getting up and running with jTips 2.0. Part 1 covers the following areas:

Part 2 of the QuickStart Guide focuses on adding teams to a season; creating rounds and games and processing results and ties it all together with some focus on how the changes made in the administrator area affects the interface and the user experience.

Being a QuickStart Guide, this document will not cover each of these areas in great detail. However, sufficient information has been included to get you started. Additional help articles will cover each of these areas in greater depth and detail.

  • Installation

Start by logging into the administrator area of your Joomla! website. You can normally get to this by adding 'administrator' at the end of the web address in the location bar of your browser. For example, if your website is at http://www.example.com/, then your Joomla! administrator area is located at http://www.example.com/administrator.

Legacy EnabledEnsure that legacy mode is enabled in your system. Navigate to Extensions > Plugin Manager and browse the list for System - Legacy. Make sure this plugin is enabled. You will see a notification at the top of the page in the administrator area to inform you that legacy mode is enabled.

Next, navigate to Extensions > Install/Uninstall. You will be presented with the extension installation page. From here, click the Browse button and locate the jTips package, then click Upload File & Install. Joomla! will install jTips and show the results of the installation - this will be in the form of the jTips splash page.

jTips is now installed!
